I can’t believe July is almost over. And that I never updated goals from June. 0_O
We have been having a good summer. We have been fishing, biking, running, reading, playing and making messes. Some things haven’t been crossed off my goal list for the summer, it is after all the season of play, so I don’t feel too bad about it. There is always next month.
Here is a recap and update of June/July’s goals:
Blogging:
*eight posts I did this in June, not July though.
*clean up categories and tags
*create and organize pages
Doula Business:
*read three books for certification
*get resource list typed up
*make packets for clients
None of these got done. However I did get business cards made, hosted a Meet the Doulas event and participated in the National Baby Food Festival’s Kid Expo.
Finances:
*spend as little as possible
Health and Fitness:
*run five miles four times
*biking- work up to fifty miles
I attempted a ten mile run, it went well, but I didn’t run the whole thing. Biking is going well, I’ve ridden two century’s (100+ miles) while training for the One Day Ride Across Michigan, which is coming up in two weeks. I’m so excited! ๐
Home and Hospitality
*trim on living room windows
*spring clean the kitchen and living room, find stuff to get rid of.
We just have to get the polyurethane on the trim so we can get it up.
Marriage:
*I’m working on a surprise for Ben. ๐
We are such an old married couple…I sent the boys away for the night and Ben smoked ribs on the grill and I cleaned strawberries and made them into freezer jam. Ben didn’t believe me though when I told him I sent the boys away. :p
Mothering:
*take the boys on a picnic
*get picture books done- I have groupon’s for photo books. I want to get birth pictures done for each boy.
The books are not done yet, I need to get them done today though, because my groupon expires on the thirty-first.
Personal:
*read The Insanity of God
*work on creating a mix and match wardrobe for myself. I’ve already cleaned out a lot of items I never wear, but I want to get it pared down a little. I’ve been pinning a lot of articles about cutting down on clothes on my Live Like No One Else Pinterest board.
I started the book, I love it so far!
I have also narrowed my wardrobe down to three main colors. Still working on making it mix and match friendly. I need to find some skirts, sweaters and jeans or pants. The problem with most of the tutorials I have found for making a mix and match wardrobe is that they are not my style…maybe I just need to refine my style some more and figure out what works for me. ๐
Hopefully you all have had a busy and fun filled June and July. ๐ I’ll fill you in on my goals for August later. ๐
Did you have a goals list for the summer? Did you get most of it done?
Do you camp? We’re going camping is September,it is our first time with both boys. I can’t wait! Got any tips for camping with two littles?

I think you got a lot done! I have a running to-do list, not anything in particular for one month or another. I have no idea what I got done in July LOL
Rebekah says
I’m sure you got a lot done Kristen. I’m always amazed at how much you can do in one weekend. ๐
The Vanilla Housewife says
My July kinda sucked. Blog and life, but all is well, kids and husband kept me alive. Sort of. ๐ Happy August!
Rebekah says
Aww, here is to a better August! I hope this month goes smoothly and that you are able to enjoy it with your family.

I love that you make goals for yourself. I want to start doing this. ๐
Rebekah says
Thanks! It has really helped to keep me on track. ๐

I think picture books are extra hard for bloggers to complete b/c we use our computer time to work on our blog. You know? I’m woefully behind.
Rebekah says
Yes! I got their baby books done, now I need to get caught up to date with the rest of them. Or at least get our last family pictures printed, framed and hung.
