Are you ready?
Ready for one month of living intentionally? Ready to begin making a habit of daily exercise?
I hope you are, ’cause I don’t know if I am.
We can do it together. ๐
Here are some tips that I hope will help us all achieve our goal of daily fitness during the month of January and all of 2015.
1. Have a plan.
Plan out your week. Look at your schedule, on the busy days choose something quick like a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout or a 15-20 minute DVD workout. On the days you have more time plan longer workouts like that run you want to do or an hour of cycling or walking.
2.Give yourself grace.
If something happens, ie you are sick with the flu, a day that didn’t go as planned or an emergency please don’t feel like a failure. You can start again tomorrow.
However note that if you use this hashtag #onemonthoffitness I will be following you and I will get on your case about days you don’t follow through if there isn’t good reason.
3.Start slow.
If exercise is something new to you don’t feel like you need to go run five miles to start. Instead start with a 10-15 minute walk, some gentle yoga or take the stairs instead of the elevator. Anyone and everyone can do this challenge even those who are new to exercise.
4. Interact with others.
If you are doing this challenge please use the hashtag #onemonthhoffitness on your social media posts. I’m not on all platforms, but I am on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram. I am mainly going to be participating on FB, but I will search for you on Instagram and Pinterest as well. By using the hashtag we will be able to find each other and encourage one another on our journey to daily fitness.
These are my ideas to help get you started. Do you have any other ideas for us?

Okay, I’ve liked your page on FB so I can play along there and comment each day! ๐ I’m ready!!
Rebekah says
Thanks Kate! You’re doing awesome!

Amen on grace!
I am currently 6 months pregnant and am trying to remain faithful to the gym at least twice a week. Once I’ve had the baby and recovered from gallbladder surgery (yay!), I’m going to hit up a new plan for getting my body fit.
Great post!
Rebekah says
Oh my! I hope the birth and surgery go well.
Good for you for keeping up with exercise while pregnant! I definitely want to be active longer in my next pregnancy than I was in the previous ones.

Sounds great! I’ll be signing up for a race in the spring and then the tough mudder in the fall. If I register for something it forces me to train for it instead of randomly exercising. Thanks for the tips!
Rebekah says
Yep. I like jeeping things on my calender to keep me motivated. I think a tough mudder would be fun but we don’t have any around here. ๐

I am in! Exercise is one of my goals for 2015! I try to get up early and exercise, otherwise I tend to find too many excuses to not exercise.
Rebekah says
Good for you! I was trying to get up earlier to run and it worked well in the summer, but I haven’t done it since early fall

These are great tips! I would also consider sharing your goal or plan with your significant other or best friend. Even if he or she isn’t participating with you, if you’re both on the same page, you should be able to expect some encouragement from him or her. ๐
Rebekah says
That is another great tip! Thanks Suzanna!
I live sharing my goals with others so it totally didn’t cross my mind. ๐
