The month of November I had so much fun with our #onemonthofthankfulness Instagram challenge meeting some awesome people, encouraging each other to remember how much we truly have and trying to change my daily attitude and outlook that I knew we would have to come up with another challenge.
This one might be a little harder for some of us than others, but we will all benefit in the end. ๐
Here are all the details you need to prepare your mind and your body for #onemonthoffitness. (If you have trouble reading hash tags like I do sometimes that is “one month of fitness”. ๐ )
So first we will start with the why.
Why one month of fitness?
Exercise is something that should be a daily practice and we should be aiming to include some sort of physical activity into our lives on a regular basis but sometimes it is hard to get motivation, or we need a little more encouragement and community to help us stay on track. That is what #onemonthoffitness is all about.
My hope is that with the encouragement we receive and the new friends we make we will be well on our way towards making fitness and exercise a part of our daily life.
When does the #onemonthoffitness challenge start?
This challenge starts on January 1st and ends on January 31st.
January is known to be the month of resolutions and then failure but together we can make fitness everyday a habit for 2015 and the rest of our lives.
How do we complete a day of the #onemonthoffitness challenge?
Any way you go out of your way to move your body and be active will count towards a day of #onemonthoffitness. If you are a busy momma in the workforce who decides to take the stairs every time possible, or a stay at home momma who can pop in a dvd and workout with the littles, or a single girl who likes to spend time at the gym, anyone and everyone can participate and finish #onemonthoffitness.
Here is what I will be including in my days of #onemonthoffitness:
*yoga
*running
*HIIT workouts
*workout DVD’s
*possibly kettlebell workouts- I’ve hinted very strongly to Ben that I would like some for Christmas. ๐
The Rules:
1.This challenge is a Facebook challenge (but I would love to see pictures on Instagram as well).
All you have to do is post a status that shares what you did for the day with the hashtag #onemonthoffitness or you can check in at Surviving Toddlerhood’s page and comment on the thread that will be there.
2. Start with small steps.
If ten minutes is all you can do at first then start with that, our goal is just to get moving and make a lifestyle change.
3. Have fun!
If running or yoga isn’t your thing, but you think zumba is the best thing ever than do some zumba!! ๐
Hopefully this isn’t to complicated. Do you have any suggestions?
What is your favorite way to workout?
When days are longer and warmer I love running, biking and doing everything outdoors, but when days are shorter and colder I do more indoors like workout dvds and HIIT workouts.
