Oh my goodness.
So my friend Carli from Livin the Mom Life asked me a question on my last post about the cloth diapers I use. She had a question about a diaper review and give away she has coming up. SO I did some searching and found out I lied to you. I don’t actually have any AIO (once again this means All In One) diapers. I didn’t even know the proper definition of a AIO diaper. I have pocket diapers by Kawaii. They don’t even make AIO diapers that I could find, and I did search that out. I also edited the previous post so it has the correct information.
So before you stop reading my blog and decide you will never trust a word I say again, I apologize and promise that in the future I will do better research. For some reason I have thought this whole year that I have had these diapers that they are AIO.
The proper definition of a AIO diaper is:
Also known as AIO’s, all-in-ones are fitted diapers that have an outer waterproof layer. Often they have fewer absorbent layers than their counterparts. These diapers are ideal for out of home use. They are not practical for daily use since frequent washing and drying reduces the effectiveness of the waterproof outer layer. This definition was taken from here.ย
AIO diapers have a liner permanently attached to them, either in the front or in the back.
Pocket diapers, which I do have :-), are the outer waterproof layer with a fleece lining. There is either an opening in the front or the back, on the inside of the diaper, where you stuff a insert in.
At the moment I have mostly microfiber inserts. They work pretty well except in the Bumkins diaper covers that I have. If I use the microfiber inserts in these. However I just bought two hemp inserts and they work much better in the Bumkins covers.
I also recently purchased this starter/trial kit and the prefolds are awesome!! They hold a lot of moisture but still feel only slightly wet.
I will definitely be getting more prefolds and hemp inserts. Also on my to do list is finding some wool sweaters at Goodwill and attempting to make some soakers like this but without that price tag.
In other news there has been lots of crying at our house lately because Cameron decided that standing is better than sitting or scooting. Needless to say many bumps and bruises have been appearing the last few days.
He isn’t eating anything yet, it doesn’t matter what it is he gags on it. I have found two things that he seems to like the taste of and they are homemade broth and avacado. He also likes to knaw on raw carrots and slightly cooked green beans.
Cameron is still nursing between two an three times a night and at least five times during the day, so he is getting all the real nutrition he needs. He has rolls all over the place. ๐ Hopefully he will sleep through the night before Seth-boy who didn’t sleep through consistently until eighteen months. We’ll see…I don’t regret one night of getting up with Seth and I’m sure I won’t with Cameron either.

Love a blogger who reports with honesty and integrity! Way to state the facts and clear up any misunderstands.

Thanks! ๐

It’s amazing to me that my last child finished diapers a mere 4 years ago and in that time the amount of people using cloth diapers has just exploded. It really wasn’t a viable option for me with my kids and now there seem to be so many choices and support out there.
Rebekah says
There are so many kinds of diapers and there are even support groups and boards now.
Heather says
I wouldn’t worry about the “lie”, you have corrected yourself now! (Not that I use cloth diapers, although my mom is still trying to persuade me).
Your boy is just precious and reminds me of Nicky. Nicky is trying to walk at the moment but has not mastered it yet. He just holds my hand and pushes objects around. We are still nursing around the clock, probably the same or more as you, even though he is 16 mo! He loves boob.
Rebekah says
Cameron isn’t trying to take steps yet, which is good, ’cause I think when he does he is going to skip walking and go to running.
TheBargainBabe says
Well I for one was about to huff off and never read again.
JUST KIDDING!
I used disposable diapers with my kids so I have no idea what you’re even talking about but I’m sure it is just fine. ๐
Good luck to the little guy who is standing and scooting around now. What a fun age.
Rebekah says
Thanks for reading! ๐ It is a fun age, he is starting to interact so much more!
Carli says
Hey at least you own up to it! Haha! Well, I appreciate the clarification! It wasn’t a lie…all the names are just confusing!!!
Rebekah says
Yeah, they are! ๐
kristentoneycampbell says
Well, you could have fooled me on the diapers, but thanks for clarifying anyways ๐ And those bumps and bruises (although so sad) are normal. I’ve had two mommas have to reschedule their photo shoots with me in the last week because of baby bumps ๐
Rebekah says
Oh man. ๐ We had to reschedule Seth’s 9 month pictures because he had a big scratch. ๐ Cameron probably won’t get 9 month pics but with how he collects his owes already I’m sure we would probably have to do the same.
creativekkids says
Well, now I know! After 5 kids, I am so glad all of mine are potty trained, although I still babysit 3 in diapers! I can’t get away from them!
Rebekah says
Diapers will be in our life for a while to. ๐ Thanks for coming by today!
Jill @ Called To Be A Mom says
Well I wasn’t about to stop reading your blog for that minor reason. I do love how in fashion cloth diapers are now! They have made them about as nice and convenient as the disposable ones.
Rebekah says
That’s good to know. I just figures I should correct myself before someone else did… ๐ They are pretty convenient, the hard part is if you want to go out for a while,I don’t like carrying lots of dirty diapers around so we use disposables if we are out for more than a couple of hours.

Great information here. The things you never stop to think of when you don’t have any children of your own. Thanks for sharing a well written post.
Rebekah says
Thanks. I’m learning new things about kids all the time!
madeactually says
Very interesting! Things we take for granted.
Hopefully you’ll get past the bumps and bruises stage soon.

I have used pockets (all in ones) before. Yep, I totally understand of the crying with our little ones when they hurt themselves…Poor thing!
Adelien says
It is great to know there are a lot of kinds of diaper right now. My kids just wore diaper when they went to church. They wore ordinary clothes pants and potty training when they were toddlers.
Rebekah says
There are so many kinds now!! It’s crazy!
