Colder weather always makes me crave warm, creamy and carb filled foods. But those cream filled soups and carb loaded rice and bean dishes aren’t the best for me anymore.
Here are four of my favorite recipes that fill my cravings and are good for my body, my growing boys and my hard working husband (okay, Ben isn’t a coffee fan- any coffee, but the boys guzzle it down).
Cilantro Lime Shrimp and White Beans
If you are following a grain free diet you can replace the rice with cauliflower rice, quinoa, buckwheat or amaranth.
I know we can’t afford shrimp all that often, but this recipe also works well with shredded chicken or white fish strips.
These muffins are sooo good. I honestly could eat the whole batch in one day. Hey, they have a sneaky orange squash in them…. This is a toddler and preschooler approved recipe.
Bulletproof Pumpkin Spice Latte
We love bulletproof coffee and this recipe brings all the flavors of fall together. Serve it with scrambled eggs and/or bacon and you have a breakfast that will last all the way through the busyness of a momma’s morning right up to lunch. The boys do drink this too, but I add a little extra milk to theirs.
Hey, fellow bloggers, this bulletproof coffee recipe includes a Thanksgiving linky party that is still open, we would love to have you join us!
“Cheesy” Sausage and Broccoli Soup
I will be making this sometime soon. We already have two other soups in the fridge, so I probably better wait until sometime next week…I have been looking forward to a large bowl of this for a while but we haven’t had broccoli in the house.
Did you link up in the Fantabulous Thanksgiving Party?
What are the comfort foods you most look forward to this fall and winter?

My son loves shrimp, so I try and plan a shrimp meal every 2-3 months – I think he might be tired of shrimp fettuccine so I’ll have to try the cilantro lime shrimp and white beans!

Okay, I don’t know if it’s your links or me – but none of the links are working. ๐
