Do you need an easy craft to make with your toddlers? This simple styrofoam snowman is so much fun to make! You’ll have a blast!

Isn’t it cute?? I know my pictures suck and they don’t do justice to this little craft at all. This Styrofoam snowman is pretty easy to make, however it isn’t the most toddler friendly craft. Seth did help by picking out the scarf and hat colors. I also sent him outside to find the sticks for the arms. The rest of the craft is up to you momma’s to make. Unless you have a child eight or older. (I just thought eight sounded like a good number, so use your judgement and don’t get mad at me if your eight year old does something catastrophic while attempting to make this.)
Super Simple Styrofoam Snowman
What you need:
1 large styrofoam ball
1 smaller styrofaom ball (I’m leaving the sizes of these up to you, make it as big or as small as you want it.)
Glittery spray paint
Decorative brads
Felt
Sticks
Needle
Thread
Hot Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Step one: Flatten the top and bottom of the large ball. (I didn’t think to take pictures of this step, sorry about that) Flatten one side of the smaller ball.
Step two: Paint the balls with your beautiful glittery spray paint. A lesson learned at our house though, was no matter how much protection you have on the floor (or where ever you choose to paint these) the glittered will somehow end up all around the house. Allow paint to dry beffore continuing.
Step three: Apply glue to the top of the larger ball and stack the smaller one on top. You all should know how to do this, after all, you are making a snowman. 🙂
Step four: Take your cute little decorative brads, we used a glittery blue color, and make a row of buttons on the larger ball.
Your toddler can hand you the brads, it keeps them busy.
Step five: Make and arrange the scarf. To make the scarf simply cute a strip of felt long enough to go around your snowman’s neck (you may need to tack or glue a couple strips together if you have a larger snowman), fringe the ends. Arrange around your snowman and glue on.
Step six: Make hat and glue on. I took forever on the hat, over an hour, but I’m sure if I had planned it differently it wouldn’t have taken so long. Cut a strip of felt and measure around your snowman’s head. This will be the band of the hat, make sure you leave enough room to take the hat on and off. Then cut a circle to fit the band. (I forgot to take pictures here as well.) Take the band and sew it to the top of the hat, then sew the band together. Glue may work here too, but don’t quote me on that.
Step seven: add the stick arms.
Ta-da!! Snowman complete. 🙂 I’m sure your snowman would look cute with a face, I’m going for the Amish doll look simply because I think my attempts at a face would ruin the snowman altogether.

The carrot would be perfect! I didn’t even think about using real carrots. You should make one and then show us how much cute it is with the nose. 🙂
What a great project! I may get this ready for the kids that will be at my house over Christmas, so they’ll have something fun to do!
