You guys, I’m starting to get excited and nervous. If BabyT#3 follows in his older brothers’ footsteps he vould arrive between 5-7 weeks from now. If not every day after 39 weeks is probably going to feel like a week by itself. I don’t know how you mommas who go over do it!
I was talking with friends this past weekend about postpartum prep, specifically if I will have freezer meals made for those first few weeks. I might make a few, like chili, soups and spaghetti sauce, but I think otherwise we will be sticking to easy crockpot meals- roasts, stews, casseroles, etc. I like to cook and think if I get a meal plan set in place before hand so I have things together we will be able to throw things in the crockpot pretty easily in the morning. If not, Ben makes some good tacos, eggs and stir fries. π
We also usually have a week or two of meals brought in by family and friends.
I do need to sit down and make a list of things to do before baby comes. Some include
*getting clothes out and washing them
*fixing the pack and play
*getting out the carseat and washing the cover
and
*finding a good wooden dresser for the older boys’ clothes so I can use the little one for BabyT#3’s things
There are other things I’m sure but those are all I can think of that are specifically for Baby. The rest of the list is mostly nesting things like cleaning our cellar, some home improvement projects and hanging pictures on the wall.
I wanted to show you a comparison shot of my pregnancy with Seth and with BabyT#3. I’m gaining at a slightly slower rate than I was with Seth but I’m pretty sure I’m going to gain more than I did with Cameron.
The biggest difference I’ve noticed is the swelling and where the weight is going. If you look at the picture of Seth-boy’s pregnancy I have elbow dimples and the start of a double chin- I gained over 45lbs with him, I don’t even know the final number. While with BabyT#3, I don’t know the actual weight gain today, I can fit into a pre-pregnancy t-shirt {although this is probably the last week} and there aren’t dimples by my elbows. I’m going to give Trim Healthy Mama the credit because I’ve cut out 95% of the sugar that I previously ate and eating that is clean and unprocessed. My favorite snack, which I ate at least once a day while pregnant with Seth was a banana with peanut butter and cool whip. Now I realize how that promoted weight gain and honestly I haven’t been able to eat anything that sweet in a long time. Favorite snack now is a square of dark chocolate (85-90%) with or without a handful of nuts, most of the time without.
Anyways on to the Bumpdate. π
My Stats:
Weight: not sure. We don’t have a scale at our house and I haven’t been around one in the morning for a while. I’m hoping it has slowed down, I feel like it has but that doesn’t mean anything. π
Cravings: none. Lemon water is still good though. I’ve reached the point where I’m eating because I need to not but don’t really want to. Meals are smaller for sure.
Diet and Exercise: following Trim Healthy Mama 90% of the time and trying to workout 4-5 days a week. It has been a couple of weeks since I ran, but last time I made it a whole mile! π I do want to get out sometime this week otherwise I’m using one of these DVDS or walking.
What I’m Loving: Walks, slow days, chiropractor adjustments, oolong tea and cool nights. Oh wait, deep cleaning, I can’t leave that off the list. π
What I’m NOT Loving: Seth turns 5 in September π .
BabyT#3’s Stats:
Weight: probably over 4 pounds by now. He feels like it!
Length: 16ish inches.
Name: Still no name. We’re workinv on it though.
BabyT#3 is moving a LOT. As of this morning he was transverse, but he has been head down for the most part. He gets hiccups once or twice a day. He likes jumping around at night, especially when my bladder is full. π
What did you take in your bag to the hospital? Did you take a gift for the nurses? What was/is something that MUST be done before you have baby?

I never even thought about a gift for the nurses or doctor! I totally need to do that. Looking lovely as always, by the way!

Thanks! π I didn’t bring a nurses gift previously but I think I might put something together this time. Working as a birth doula I’ve come to realize that the nurses need a thank you just as much as the doctor, doula and/or labor coach.

I couldn’t wait to come read the post this morning after seeing the bump last night! Never thought about a gift for the hospital staff…but I obsessed over my hospital bag and it was packed perfectly… except, the extra big pajamas I bought as a treat to wear in the hospital… didn’t fit π
