Well, this goals post is a little late, but that is okay because most of my April goals got pushed to May. That is what happens when you break your elbow.
I have another visit with my orthopaedic surgeon on Monday. I’m supposed to have my arm in a sling most of the time, but it has been kinda difficult to keep it on. I don’t lift anything with my left arm, it is so weak right now I don’t know if I could lift much anyways, I just try to move it around and stretch it out. I’m hoping that after Monday I will be able to start lifting things and putting weight on it.
So here are my goals for May and an update from April’s list. Some of these goals, like running and biking, have to wait until I have permission from the doc.
Blogging:
*ten posts- I had nine last month, I was going to have ten, but I got to attend my first birth. π
Finances:
*save $200 a week- haha, we’ve been paying hospital bills…
*read Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey- I am through the chapters that talk about what steps we are in, saving the emergency fund and the debt snowball.
Health and Fitness:
*Run 2x a week
*Bike once a week
*read Digestive Health for Children by Elizabeth LipskiΒ Ph.D, C.C.N.– Awesome book! If you want to know more about children’s health this is a book I highly recommend!
Home and Hospitality:
*Get the yard cleaned up. – I’m adding this because the yard has been bugging me. Hopefully after Monday I’ll have the okay to start raking. π
*paint piano room door
*get wedding pictures into an album (4 1/2 years later, π I think it is time to get them into a book)– I did get this done last month.
*have great grandparents over for dinner- we’ll be picking a date for later this month
Marriage:
*take a walk along the river without the boys we took a drive around our county after some severe storms and checked out river flooding. We also visited some dams in our area.
*we already had our date night, maybe we can go on a hike sometime this month
Mothering:
*one on one date with Seth- I’m blaming the arm for this one not being accomplished. I couldn’t drive all month. We have a date scheduled for next week. Wednesday. We are going to the library and maybe to the park.
Personal:
*doula training Yay!! Now I have to start working on certification requirements. π
*read Jacob’s Ladder by Donald McCaig- this is a slow read, I love the book, the history and details are amazing, but chapters are long and it is hard to find time to read.
Do you feel bad when you don’t get your goals accomplished?
How is the weather where you are? Have you been outside a lot lately?
My boys would live outside if I let them. Yesterday it was actually really warm and muggy, I loved it! I was warm! π I want to start working in my yard and hopefully soon we will get our garden planted.

You know what is funny? I had a wedding this weekend and my friend used the same photographer that I had at my wedding. It was cool to see her again and I will be interested to see how her photography has changed over the years. π

Unfinished goals do torture me a little sometimes, but not so much that I’m working on them right now instead of reading blogs….So sorry to hear about your elbow!! What an unusual injury! Hope you feel better soon, and thank you for the book recommendation!

Good luck catching up in may, you are still ahead of me because I haven’t published May goals yet. We have been spending as much time outside as we can so less time for blogging π thanks for sharing with #SmallVictoriesSunday and hope you link up again tonight!
