The middle of summer already! I hope you all have had a good first half, been able to spend time with family, get in some vacation and enjoy all that summer brings.
We have been having a great summer! I thought it would be a good time to check in on my bucket list and see what all we still need to do. Honestly I thought we were doing really well with our list of mostly fun and some work but it turns out we haven’t done as much as I thought.
*picnics
*swimming
*camping we went camping while in GA and we have another trip with friends planned for the end of August.
*fishing we have been fishing once and are going again tonight. The first time we didn’t catch anything so we are hoping for more luck tonight.
*trip to the zoo
*hiking
*beach days
*fireworks we went to see fireworks on the Fourth of July. The boys loved them! I thought I lost my phone which was scary ’cause it had almost all my pictures of Cameron since birth and I hadn’t saved them all to second location. My SIL found my found the phone the next day and all was well. I learned my lesson and bought a new SD card.
*National Baby Food Festival
*pick berries
*put as much fresh produce away for fall and winter as we can
*siding on the house Yay!! After being an advertisement for a local hardware store for a couple of years we finally got our siding up. π I LOVE it!!
*kitchen counters
*curtains and pillows for the our bedroom
*spend the summer enjoying the last summer as a family of four
*run a couple road races
*workout DVD’S 2-3 times a week
*school with Seth because we will be taking a couple of months off after BabyT#3 is born
*reading program at the library
As you can see we still have quite a few things to do. Some of them like the summer reading program, picking berries and putting away produce for the winter, are in process and others have yet to be planned. I’m really hoping that going back over our list will help us to remember what we are supposed to be doing. π
How is your summer bucket list coming? Are you accomplishing all you were hoping to?
What is your favorite summer time activity? I <3 beach days. Living in West Michigan we have the great blessing of having many beautiful beaches within 45 minutes to 1 hour away from where we live. And since all our lakes are fresh water I don't have to worry about yucky salt water. π
Kate @ Did That Just Happen? says
Hey that’s not bad!! Look at how much have done, and what memories you’ve made! And I think that the races and working out should be a lower priority π
Rebekah says
We have done a lot, you are right!
Lol! I would make exercise a lower priority but it is my “me” time. I can’t survive without it, I turn into a horrible grump who yells about everything.
Carolyn Leanne BΓ©chard says
Girl you need to WORK ON that picnic! So easy!
Rebekah says
I know! I was thinking the same thing as I was going over the list. π I’ll have to be more intentional and get one in this week. π
storiesofourboys says
This is a good list! We are wanting to do so many of these same things…..but not Natl. Baby Food Festival…ha
Rebekah says
π Lol! We live near the town where Gerber Baby Food was first produced, hence Baby Food Festival, they probably added National to the name to make it sound bigger than it actually is. It is one a of the bigger festivals is our state though… MI also has an Asparagus Festival and Cherry Fest. π All the farmer’s needed reasons to get together so the festivals were created. π
Do you have any interesting ones outnin CA?
storiesofourboys says
Oh yeah. There’s a garlic theme park: garlic ice cream, garlic wine, rides shaped like garlic bulbs. Long live garlic. ha!
Rebekah says
Hmm, I like garlic but I don’t think I could eat garlic ice cream.
storiesofourboys says
Me neither. I’ve never actually tried it.
