Welcome!! I’m so glad you are here!
I’m Rebekah, married to my best friend Ben since 2009. We have been blessed with three handsome little men and we hope to be Surviving Toddlerhood for many more years. π I’m a Bible believing disciple of Christ who is seeking to honor Him in everything I do.
I consider myself sorta crunchy and you will find posts on these crunchy topics here: baby-wearing, homeschooling, allergen free recipes, cloth diapering, food preservation, and other natural living categories. I like to run, bike, garden and preserve my own food. I also work as a birth and postpartum doula, I love supporting women through pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. My dreams include completing more marathons, having lots of fun with my family and eventually I would love to travel the world with my hubby.
Ben is an auto technician at a dealership. He works really hard to provide for our family and so that I can stay home with the boys. Ben likes to hunt and fish, and he is a sports fanatic. He is an avid biker and would like to attempt an iron man triathlon someday. At least he did last year… π
Seth is our oldest son. He was born in September of 2010. Contrary to my plans Seth was breech and ended up being a cesarean section. While in surgery we found a uterine septum, you can read more about that here.Β Β Β Seth is imaginative andΒ creative. He is a leader, but also likes to instigate trouble. A classic older brother. π
Cameron was born in March 2013. He is our first VBAC baby. It was a long labor, but so worth it! If you want to know more about my VBAC story you can read it here.Β Cameron is a cuddle bug. He still needs naps at almost four and that is a lifesaver for me. It gives me a chance to lay down while I put him to sleep, and sometimes if the baby keeps sleeping I can sneak in thirty minute nap.
Andrew is one and was born in September of 2015. He is our second VBAC and was a 35 weeker. His birth was very different from my first VBAC and included pitocin. A pitocin augmented labor is survivable without an epidural, mommas!! You can read Andrew’s birth story here.
The reason that I share here on Surviving Toddlerhood is to encourage you in your faith and motherhood. I want you to know that you are not alone in this season of littles. I also want to share allergen free recipes that my family enjoys, and I want to share the things I am learning in all areas of life.
I hope that you will join us on this journey of toddlerhood and that together we will survive it together. π

You have a gorgeous family! I also realised that you live in Michigan. I’m originally from Ukraine, but my family immigrated to the US and I lived in Michigan for years before heading out to Europe. I really love Michigan though and miss the beautiful (albeit far too cold) winters, and just all of the lovely areas there are to explore.
Rebekah says
Aww, thanks! π
Where did you live in Michigan? We are on the western side about an hour or so from Lake Michigan.
This past winter was pretty cold and long, but.we have had a few mild ones lately, so we knew it was coming. π
Michigan is a beautiful state! I might be a little biased though.

Howdy! I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for The Liebster Award, because I absolutely love following your terrific blog and wanted to share it with other folks. It sounds like you have a lovely family. We have 10 month old twins (grandchildren) and I watch them while my daughter and her husband work. We were thrilled to get one of each but their births were terrifying and they spent a long three month in the NICU. You are very blessed. Have a nice weekend.
Rebekah says
Aww. That had to have been scary! I’m glad they are doing well now and that you are able to enjoy them! Thank you for coming by Rena!
