One of the overall things that I want to focus on in February is making sure that everything I do is done with love.
As followers of Christ we are told to love others as we love ourselves (Mark 12:31), to love each other earnestly (1 Peter 1:22), to do everything in his name (Colossians 3:17,23) and for his glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Therefore if I am calling myself a Christian I need to be more loving. I like to think of myself as a loving person, but honestly if you came over to my house you would wonder sometimes.
So, my number one goal for the month is to show love in all my actions, whether at home or in public
Here are the other goals I’m working towards:
Personal:
*memorize 1 Peter 2
*get rid of 30 more things of mine, not the boys’ or Ben’s
*read Luke – Acts
Mothering:
*read two chapter books with Seth
*come up with some ways for Seth to earn money
Home and Hospitality:
*curtains and pillows for our room
*have someone over who has never been to our house
Health and Fitness:
*GOAL FOR THE YEAR -complete the Fifth/Third 25k on May 9, 2015
*make a training plan for the other 25k
Doula Business:
*public informational night with other local doulas
*get things ready to send in for DONA certification
Blog:
*eight posts
*posts for business blog
What are some of your goals for the month?
Angela McKinney says
Great goals. I should sit down and make some goals like you have done. I have a hard time goal setting.
Rebekah says
It took me a while to be able to set goals that were attainable. I love this book about goal setting- Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine. Check it out!
Stefany Thode (@ToBeThode) says
These are great goals! I haven’t made goals for myself in some time but I really should… at least to hold myself accountable. I love the idea of getting rid of things the most here.
Rebekah says
Posting them here definitely makes me more accountable. π
I love getting rid of stuff, but most of the time I go for others’ stuff.

Kate @ Did That Just Happen? says
Wonderful goals! Part of my prayers every morning is that may I do everything from a place of love, that people can see Him through my actions and not just my words. I’ve made a goal to write more notes, send handwritten letters this year – got my January one done, and have the February one on today’s to-do list.
Rebekah says
I love that goal! It always make me feel so special to get a handwritten card letter or note. I’m sure you’ll bless many people this year!
my5littlemonkeys says
I made a big list for my New Year’s Resolutions and believe me, I need to get going on each and every item! Living in a cold climate has caused me to slack off a bit on my work outs…I do NOT like running on a treadmill. As soon as the warmer weather comes, I am back at it!
Rebekah says
I hate running on the treadmill! It is so easy to just stop and get off. I would much rather run when I have to go somewhere. π
Kat Ryan says
I needed to read this today. Thank you!
Sarah says
This is a great reminder that I need to make monthly goals!
Rebekah says
I’m glad I could remind you. π
confessions1rst says
Love it! I’m trying to study Colossians chapter 3, spend more time crafting and cooking with the children and less time giving them “work”, be more loving towards the household, get the dog out for exercise, blog and work!
Rebekah says
Colossians 3 is a good chapter!!
Michele says
I have not set any goals for February other then to just somehow get through it. With it always seeming to snow and me having to constantly be rescheduling my clients I am in a state of hurry up and slow down—-
Rebekah says
Oohh. π I hope this month flows smoothly for you!
mamabyfire says
I always try to be loving in everything but I sometimes get caught up in the moment and forget. Thank you for the valuable reminder! Have a wonderful February!!

Rebekah says
That is a good goal. π

It is highly commendable that you are memorizing scripture. What great way to hide God’s word in your heart.
Rebekah says
Thanks Kim!! Hoping to set a good example for my littles as well. π
Rosey says
Good luck with your goals! I’ve found I fall asleep praying a lot lately, my goal is to switch it up and pray in the a.m. so I’m not snoozing before I’m even started!!
Rebekah says
What a good way to meet your goal! Thanks for remindkng me to switch it up every once in a while!
Angel says
Those look like very nice goals. I especially like how you put that you would invite someone to your house who has never been before. π
Rebekah says
I love having people over and it is always so much easier to get to know people over food. π
Amanda McMahon says
