How did you do in the last month of 2014? Did you end the year feeling accomplished?
Looking back over the year and seeing everything that happened in 2014 I realize just how much we did and I’m amazed. I might not have done everything that I wanted, but I’m hoping I did what God had planned for me.
Here is what we did accomplish that was on December’s goal list.
Blog:
*ten posts– ended up with nine
Doula Business:
*two guest posts You can see one on my business blog explaining what a doula does and another on Childbirth World where I share my experience at a birth.
*start getting certification paper work ready to send in– nope. I had three births in December and was hoping that tea if them would count towards certification, but two momma’s worked quickly and had their babies to fast. ๐ I’m sure they don’t share that sentiment, they were quite happy with how fast the births were. ๐
Health and Fitness:
*run two times a week– nope. Twice most weeks but not all.
*workout dvd two times a week– nope. Again twice most weeks but not all.
Home and Hospitality:
*family pictures printed and on the walls– kinda sorta. I got pictures printed for the Christmas cards but none for the wall.
*Christmas cards sent out– not all got sent out, but most did. The rest will be New Year’s cards. :p
Mothering:
*start another chapter book with Seth- he told me today he is getting tired of the Little House series, so we might read another Narnia book next– we started Prince Caspian and are half way through it.
Personal:
*finish memorizing 1 Peter 1– I have verses 1-16 down, working on the rest.
*try to pull things together for a fitness challenge on Facebook in January– yes! You can join us over on Facebook as we start a habit of daily fitness.
What kind of goals do you have for 2015?
Do you have a certain way that you make your goals and plan your year?

I make a goal as I see the need for it. A few years ago, it was about the middle of the year, I became a “Yes Man” and made myself say yes to everything to help me get out of a rut. After that, my life goal was to stop comparing myself to others, and it took almost a year and a half, but that one I can finally feel comfortable about! The fact that it was working hit me unexpectedly a few months ago, and filled me with great joy! But, I’ve reviewed my bucket list and found some items to focus on, and my new self-improvement journey is de-cluttering. In my home, in my life and in my thoughts!

Saying yes to others all the time is a weakness of mine. I have to remind myself that I don’t always need to say yes and that saying no can be better.
Decluttering is amazing!! I need to start doing that this week. ๐

I’ve also had to learn that it’s okay to say ‘No’, and that was probably harder than saying “yes” to everything!
