This past Monday was the two week mark for following the GAPS diet. It has gone much better than I thought it would and I’ve seen great results so far.
Where am I at in the GAPS diet?
Monday I started Stage 5. In stage 5 raw vegetables and some cooked fruits are worked back into the diet. You start with soft raw veggies like lettuce and cucumber and see how your body likes those. I had really been missing my salads and have enjoyed them this week.
How am I doing?
I did have a reaction to something yesterday and I think I was overdoing it on the honey. We were experimenting with a GAPS waffle recipe, I’m hoping to share it next week. ๐
Besides that reaction yesterday my hands almost look normal again. There is still a small rash spot on my leg that has been slowly fading. That spot will probably take a lot longer to go away because it is always the first spot to start itching when I have a major reaction.
I haven’t been drinking as much broth or eating as many fermented vegetables as I’m supposed to, I need to get some bones to make broth and make some vegetables this weekend.
Changes I’ll be making to the intro diet, I’m skipping reintroducing the fruits yet (stage 6) and going to the full diet minus fruits and dairy products. Why? Because I want to give my body more time to heal before adding those sources of sugar back into my diet.
